Hello kitty and Friends

Intro to the anime series Hello Kitty and Friends, a series of short films from Sanrio that were translated into English in 1994 by YTV Canada.

Kitty White (AKA Hello Kitty) and her twin sister Mimmy have adventures in their hometown, which is apparently London; as evidenced in episodes like "The Day the Big Clock Stopped". As well as play roles in various fairytales and fantasy stories -- in a similar style to the earlier 1987 DiC series " Hello Kitty's Furry Tale Theatre"

Comprised of episodes made singularly going as far back as the end of the Eighties (Kitty herself dates back to the Seventies), Sanrio sold the collective cartoons they'd had made as a package to the US rather than singly. The dubbing was handled by Optimum Productions.

Trying to figure out the ordering of the collective shorts as they would have been released in Japan is a task that this user feels unable to untangle, as Sanrio didn't originally intend them as a series per se.

Because of the nature of the release of Hello Kitty shorts, this series was, in the west "Pre-dated" by DiC's "Hello Kitty's Furry Tale Theatre" series of episodes. Though they are all technically part of the same collective of shorts made by Sanrio dating as far back as 1989.

Sweet Hello Kitty House

American Hello Kitty House

On this week's special season-recap show of The Millionaire Matchmaker, Haute PR CEO Robin Kassner—who originally sought the matchmaking talents of Patti Stanger to find a "Jewish Matthew McConaughey" and whom Stanger, to much outrage, labeled a "size 24 Jessica Simpson"—came on to hash out some grievances and tell America what she's been up to lately. Which is this: "I'm actually building a Hello Kitty house in the Hamptons; it's going to be the first Hello Kitty house in America. It's pink on the outside, it's very fabulous; I just ordered these Hello Kitty refrigerators and dishwashers from Italy." Stanger's retort: "Who's going to live in a pink world that's a rugged guy?"
Anyway, no word yet where exactly the property will perch, in all its bubblegum-pink glory, or where it is in terms of conception/construction, but it's not hard to imagine it looking something like the Hello Kitty house that currently exists in Shanghai, China. Hey, it could be worse: "I'd actually like to get another house in nautical theme, because [my pomeranian] Bruiser looks really cute dressed up like a sailor."

After doing some shopping, Kyle took the group to get some really good tea. And it was really good! After that we went to KTV aka karaoke, it was a blast. I sang “Hey Jude” and a little bit of “Beat it”. Me and Kyle were backup singers for a couple of songs

The Impacts of Kitty Cat

Japanese is a place that created many famous manga characters all over the world such as: Pikachu, Naruto, Goku, Vegeta, Sailor Moon... And Kitty Cat ( Hello Kitty ) is one of these as well. Kitty Cat was created by Yuko Shimizu designer, Sanrio Company, Japan. It had first appearance in 1974, and 2 years later, it appeared first time in America in 1976. Kitty Cat is known as a white cat with a big head. Especially, Kitty doesn't have tail. However, Hello Kitty look like so cutely. In addition, Kitty Cat is also known with other name "Kawaii" ( mean : Cute ).

Hello Kitty is a highly recognizable character known throughout the world. A white kitten with
two small black eyes, an orange nose, no mouth and a pink bow on her left ear, Hello Kitty has
become a symbol of cuteness. In Japan, this cuteness is called “kawaii”, and it is part of the
culture (Bremner). In America, this cuteness is part of our obsession with youth. Hello Kitty is
not just a trend; after 36 years the little kitten is still appearing on a range of products ("Sanrio
Company," 2009). Hello Kitty appeals to the young and innocent, as well as women who are
attracted to the young and cute appeal.

Hello Kitty originated in Japan, where the citizens are one of the main consumers of the
products. Not only are the citizens avid customers, but their culture also embraces the character. “Kawaii” is composed of several different components that make up ‘cute’. Being very small, innocent, young, dependent, round, pastel in color and animal-like create the cuteness that is essential to the Japanese culture. “Kawaii” attracts people of all ages. The young are especially attracted to this, particularly the aspect of objects being very small. Hello Kitty is tiny, “the weight of three apples” to be exact, and also appears on very small products such as pens, band-aids, and miniature toys. These small items appeal to young Japanese girls because they can easily be carried anywhere and are easily held by small hands. The children relate this small, rounded character to being safe and nice, which makes for a comforting belonging in a mostly strict society.

Eventhough Kitty Cat was created in Japan, it is a popular character around the world. And America is a exception as well. Hello Kitty is liked by every aged groups. Especially is young people. In America, they had had a notion that the old person are often incompetent, unproductive and cranky for a long time. So they belived that Hello Kitty could make them getting younger. Women embrace the sensation of Hello Kitty to feel young again. Many women grew up with the cute character and she returns them to their younger life and brings back memories of childhood. Emily Funicello, 18, and collector of the brand for eight years states, “Since I started liking Hello Kitty at a young age I still have that same feeling when I see her products. There are Hello Kitty products for little kids all the way up to adults, so rather than growing out of her, people can continue to relate to her.” Hello Kitty can make women continue to feel youthful. Sanrio recognizes the desire from these women and in return has created products such as toasters, waffle irons, hair-dryers, purses and clothing.

Kitty Cat has really profound effects on people not only Japanese but also everybody all over the world. It has become an icon for not only young people but also for the millions of billions of women all over the world. So Hello Kitty is always a pride Japanese. Because  of this famousness, Sanrio company can earn billions of dollars every year. This may reflect the impacts of Kitty cat in the world.

Hello Kitty is the star attraction at Puroland Sanrio, an indoor theme park in Tokyo that comes complete with children's boat ride, theatre performances and parades.
Each year, the park's almost a million visitors leave behind some 7 billion yen ($61m; £29m).And yet, the park accounts for no more than a small part of Sanrio's fortune, for its kitten star has a much broader appeal."The appeal of Hello Kitty is multifold," explains Professor Christine Yano, anthropologist and expert on Japanese culture at the University of Hawaii. "For many, it is the blank slate that she represents. For others, it is the fact that she has been around now for over 30 years. Globally, it is both the simplicity of the visual image as well as its playful sophistication."Hello worldBut Hello Kitty is more than just a national - and increasingly international - phenomenon.

Hello Kitty
A raunchy Hello Kitty appeals to adults
This cute creature has also become perhaps the world's most lucrative feline.Almost 90bn yen worth of so-called "social communication" gifts helped clock up operating profits of some 6.2bn yen last year - in spite of Japan's declining birth rate and sales-hammering factors such as a cold summer and a warm winter - which come on top of tough rivalry from mobile phones and other gadgets. And although this is slightly weaker than previous years - sales in Japan have been slipping, while operating profits have suffered steep slides - Hello Kitty is not withdrawing its claws. From the company's point of view, the kitten sales amount to expressions of giving - "from the heart" and "of the heart" - and with overseas sales rising 3.2% last year, it seems the philosophy is gaining global ground with 50,000 kinds of Hello Kitty products selling in 60 countries. Sex appealBut global expansion alone cannot insulate Hello Kitty's makers from the tough trading conditions back home, where market forces are eroding the feline's innocence at quite a lick.
Hello Kitty
Hello Kitty merchandise is sold across the world
Children alone can no longer satisfy Sanrio's expansionist urges, so adults both within and beyond Japan's borders are targeted with a slightly raunchy range where Hello Kitty cheekily displays her underpants."There is something going on here," says Professor Yano. "Call it neo-feminism if you will, that allows grown-up women in their thirties to retreat into girly feminism that is cute and spunky at the same time."The inclusion of sexiness into Hello Kitty only speaks to the strength of the image."In effect, Hello Kitty can be anything and anyone. A few years back there was even Hello Kitty as a kamikaze pilot."There has also been aggressive development of collaborative products that have seen Hello Kitty team up with IT-firm NEC to produce a Kitty laptop and with electrical giant Toshiba to produce goods such as coffee makers and microwaves.Taiwanese carrier Eva Air has two Hello Kitty jets that fly to Japan everyday, and the company is working closely with fashion brands, artists and designers, according to company spokesman Kazuo Tohmatsu. There is even a Hello Kitty wine, though "Sanrio do not license Hello Kitty for knives, including knives for handcraft, or for strong alcohol like whisky", observes Mr Kazuo.Cute rivalsProfessor Yano feels that other companies may have their claws out for Kitty but that she is far from disappearing through the cat-flap into the night.
Hello Kitty
Hello Kitty's appeal goes well beyond the theme park
"I think Korean goods provide a serious rival to Sanrio. If Hello Kitty is cleverly cute, then some of the Korean manifestations outdo Hello Kitty."But Professor Yano also points out that Hello Kitty had a following before the current wave of Japan's "gross national cool"."I think when that wave has passed on, Hello Kitty will retain her popularity. "Sanrio's explicit goal is that Hello Kitty not be a fad. Therefore they do not advertise. They want her following to be under the fad-radar and thus long-lasting."

history of hello kitty

   HELLO KITTY HISTORY

Hello Kitty is the popular cartoon character created in 1974 by the Sanrio Company of Japan. Hello Kitty is a white, mouthless female kitten who lives in a seemingly perfect world. Kind, friendly and impossibly cute, she offers advice like "Hello Kitty says be yourself!" Although Sanrio had been producing Hello Kitty products since the 1970s, in the mid-1980s Hello Kitty mania swelled and she became one of the most prominent and recognizable Japanese characters on Earth, found on everything from handbags to bath towels.

According to the company's website, other Sanrio characters include "Pochacco, our athletic young pup, and the slightly naughty Badtz Maru."

In the very beginning, Hello Kitty, did not have a name. It was first seen as a kitty with a little red bow on its left ear, sitting down. However, Hello Kitty instantly attracted respect and love of thousands of people in Japan with its cute design and character, which turned Hello Kitty into an instant celebrity.
This cute kitty was finally given a name, called Hello Kitty. The very first item which featured Hello Kitty was a wallet, which was a very tiny purse with the picture of Hello Kitty embriod on its side. Hello Kitty's family was also introduced.
The company Sanrio took the job of the main distributor and owner of Hello Kitty. Sanrio welcomed and celebrated Hello Kitty by creating a new pose for Hello Kitty. Instead of just a sitting pose, they made Hello Kitty a standing pose.
Apparently Sanrio liked the new standing pose, and they decided to try a bit more. They made Hello Kitty to sit in a plane, piloting it. It was a very simple picture of Hello Kitty in a plane with its head sticking out. The school children loved it, even high school students and some adults were attracted to this cute new design.
This time, Hello Kitty was designed to ride a dolphin, along with other different styles such as in a car, in different places...etc. Hello Kitty also had a large varity of different uniforms and outfits.
Grandpa and grandma formally introduced to the Hello Kitty world.
Hello Kitty playing sport! Hello Kitty was in a tennis top and playing tennis. Holding a tennis racket and a ball, extremely cute and adorable. Hello Kitty digital watch was also released and went on sale that year, and more than a million watches were sold. Incredible.
The range of Hello Kitty items on sale expanded to telephones and cameras also some more electronic products, which it continued to increase year after year. The first Hello Kitty movie was made, called "Kitty and Mimi's new umbrella".
Hello Kitty's outline disappeared! The reason for this is to make Hello Kitty more involved to the background picture. They also made a bit of adjustment to the position of Hello Kitty's eyes.
Cris-cross and straight lined background, with a more US style design attracted lot of people in the US. During the same year, Hello Kitty was named the child ambassador of UNICEF in the US as well.
Hello Kitty photo design. This was to make Hello Kitty more realistic and made it seem closer to us. This process was a huge success at the end.
